Fat Loss Week Day 4

177 pounds....

I'm still hanging in there. If I'm able to start the racing season at under 180 pounds, I will consider that a major victory in getting into shape and better health. Not bad for a 43 year old guy, eh? Not to mention I'll be 44 in less than 2 weeks.

Today was Metabolic Boost day. Cut carbs all day and then eat a bunch of them for dinner after a hard 40 minute ride. Even got to have some Recoverite afterwards. Still no during exercise HEED though. That's a bummer because I really like that stuff. Here's the CompuTrainer ride in CyclingPeaks.

It was a good, hard, short ride. 10 minute warm up, the 25 minute ride, and then a 5 minute cool down.

Today was massage and chiropractor day. Both helped out a ton on body. My legs really needed the massage and my neck/back really needed the chiropractor.

Got shocking news from the accountant about our taxes. Apparently we owe a ton. Which sucks since it wasn't really planned. Since I get paid on 1099, I paid quarterly taxes last year per the accountants suggestion. Well, their suggestion wasn't quite enough. Almost 7 grand not enough. ouch! Needless to say, I'm digging for deductions that I may have missed. So far found a couple of computer classes that weren't reported so that might help some. But I don't think THAT much. I guess a new bike will have to wait till next year. Probably just as well since the driver and the motor needs to get better since the chassis is still much faster than those two.

My guy in the Survivor pool got booted off tonight. Darn, the pool is worth $360.

Fat Loss Week Day 3

177 pounds....

Yup, the Fat Loss Week is doing it like it's supposed to. Day 3 is a recovery day, so no biking or exercise. The carbs get cut really hard today and protein will be up. When I first looked at this diet last year, I wasn't sure it would produce results or not, but it does and I'll be sticking with it for a long time. Since racing season is coming, I don't think I'll be able to do another Fat Loss Week for some time, but no problem. I think if I eat well and continue training, I should be able to maintain or possibly lose some more weight.

Normal day today, back to work. The hornet's nest awaits. It was bad on Monday, but I was able to put out most fires.

Fat Loss Week Day 2

179 pounds....

Maybe this week I can get back to the 176 area that I was during the Master Cleanser. Day 2 of the Fat Loss week went well. Some carbs before lunch and then bring on the protein in the afternoon. So far so good.

Did a quickie on the CompuTrainer this morning and here is what it looks like in CyclingPeaks.

This ride was short and sweet.

Did some school things today. Started week 2 of my Server 2003 Infrastructure course. Name resolution. Interesting but boring stuff.

I'm over half way thru my latest audio book, Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. It has been pretty good so far. I will buy his next one, The Da Vinci Code.

That's about it.

Fat Loss Week Day 1

180 pounds....

At least I'm hanging out around the same weight. This week is the Fat Loss Week which is somewhat similar to a low carb week. I have done this type of thing a few times in the past with good results.

I did a couple CompuTrainer rides this morning and this is what the first one looks like in CyclingPeaks.

And this is the second one.

This first one is the profile from the 2006 WORS Iola Bump & Jump race. I purchased some software from RaceMate to convert GCX files into CompuTrainer Courses. Kinda neat stuff. But this course is a bitch on a road bike because of all the elevation changes. Once the moutain bike is back together, I'll have to try this course again with that one.

The second course is just one that comes with the trainer and was a climb or two in the beginning. Since it is a Fat Loss Week, I didn't want to push too hard today, but still I did give it a good effort.

Off to work today, I'm not sure what kind of a hornet's nest I'll be walking into but that is the way that it goes.

Sunday a Day Late

180 pounds....

Ok, eat like a pig and you will pay for it on the scale. Yup, that is what happens.

I did get a 30 minute ride in on the CompuTrainer and here's the CyclingPeaks of it.

I pushed hard for the 30 minutes. Good recovery after riding an hour yesterday. Monday I start my Fat Loss Week so things will be somewhat different.

I did get the girls bike's out yesterday. Sami and I even went for about a 30 minute ride on the tandem. She seems to like it. I might have a new stoker in the making here. Mary got out on her's some. She has grown some and I will need to do some seat adjustments. Hopefully this will be the year to get the training wheels off. Might need to buy her a Bookoo Mountain Bike to help your learn her bicycle balance.

Baby Busch wins Bristol. He isn't my most favorite driver and his comments in Victory Lane were not that stellar, but he did have a good car all day. JP Montoya got taught a lesson. That place must have been a mind blower to him after all he has seen over the years.

Battlestar Galactica finished up and won't be back until 2008! What a crock.

A Good Saturday

179 pounds....

I'm finding it hard to believe that I have been staying the same weight or losing any considering I have been eating like a pig. All over the map. No structure. I need to reel it back in and keep it on track and things will be much better.

A pretty normal Saturday. I got to sleep in some this morning. Barb and I did some CompuTrainer riding this morning. Here is the CyclingPeaks from that ride.

The cool thing is we went for 45 minutes on the course. Combine that with 10 minutes warm up and 5 minutes cool down, we did a full hour. Slowly but surely, I'm going to get back up to where I was before the Master Cleanser and the ear surgery.

Watched the BUSCH race from Bristol. It was nice to see Carl Edwards win, but it sucked that ABC decided not to air the back flip because they were out of time. Once again ABC/ESPN mess things up. Rusty Wallace will make me start watching the races with the sound off. He is almost worse than Darrell Waltrip.

I'm watching the IndyCar race now. As you can tell it must not have my attention to much if I'm doing my update while it's happening.

The big bummer from the past couple of days is that Eric Medlen, NHRA driver, passed away from injuries from a test crash on Monday. Our thoughts to his family and friends.

Another Trainer Day

180 pounds....

I'm still there and it is feeling good. Next week will be a Cyclo-FUEL Fat Loss Week so hopefully I will get back below 180.

I got my stitches and packing out yesterday. Woohoo. The itch has gone. That is a good thing. The bad thing is that the Doc has recommended that I don't push it too hard in the exercise area for the next few weeks. So after next week's Fat Loss Week, I will go back to my Off Season Training Plan Week 1 and start over. If nothing else, I could use the base.

I went yesterday and ordered up a new suit. Damn those things are expensive. A suit, that is jacket and pants, hard soled shoes, and a shirt came out to about $500.00. Ouch. I guess it takes money to look good in my case.

So basically at this point, things are slowly getting back to normal. Saturday I will go back to school and start getting back on track there. I would like to get my MCSA one of these months. Hopefully that will work out soon.

I did ride on the CompuTrainer this morning and this is what the CyclingPeaks of my ride looks like.

Better than yesterday. I did the same amount of time, but with more effort. I need to slowly work my way back up on the endurance side.

That's about it for now. Should be an easy day overall.

Back in the Saddle Again

180 pounds....

Back on 03/05/07 I reached the 180 pound mark. It is 03/21/07 and I'm still at that weight. Is that a good thing? I think so. The key is going to be whether or not I'm still there this time next week.

I decided to get back on the CompuTrainer today and go for a spin. It has been a while since I have been on the bike because I didn't want to bother my stitches. At this point, I figured it wouldn't be too bad for them if I rode today since they are being removed tomorrow morning at 7:30am. You don't think I'm anxious do you?

So here's the CyclingPeaks of my ride.

I know it's not much, but it is a start for me since I have been doing easy or no exercise for darn near a whole month. I hope over the next few days to keep this up and then start working on my off-season training plan again on Monday starting with Week 1. I'll work up some base again and then start Cyclo-MTB in preparation for the season. I'm hoping things work out well and that this season will be a fun and rewarding one.

I will be off to buy a suit, a shirt and some shoes today. The bitch about this is, this is the 3rd suit in 5 years. But in the end I guess it's a good reason since I have lost weight instead of gained.

Big & Baggy

180 pounds....

I went to the Men's Warehouse about my suit this morning. That was quite a laugh. I haven't tried on my suit in quite a bit. The pants felt like waders and the coat was big all over. If I hadn't brought along my suspenders, my pants would have been around my ankles. The seamstress said that since I'm at least 3 sizes smaller on both things, it is really hard to get a good look without buying new. So needless to say, that's what I'll be doing either tonight or tomorrow.

I also removed my fork and rear shock from my Epic and took them down to the bike shop so that they can be sent in for a rebuild. Hopefully they won't be away too long. I have a feeling that I have waited too long on these. I probably should have done this the beginning of the month. While I was there, I was able to score a set of pre-neo Look pedals for Barb for on the tandem. Nice, since those are hard to find now days.

Windy Monday

181 pounds....

I guess I should have expected to gain some weight after all the food I ate yesterday. I guess I will be going for a walk this morning to attempt to get my body moving.

Not sure what I'll be doing today yet. I have no plans. I do need to go get my suit refitted since it is huge on me now sometime this week. A company called me this past Friday and are interested in meeting with me. So, I need to get my suit in order and not to forget, a new pair of shoes.

Otherwise, the garbage has to go out today and that's about it. I guess I can keep reading my coaching manual and attempt to get that completed this week. It is an open book test so it shouldn't be that tough. It just takes the time to do it.

Typical Lazy Weekend

179 pounds....

I'm still below 180 after breaking the fast last week. Not bad. Hopefully this week I can get back to exercise after my stitches come out.

It has been a typical, lazy weekend. Been watching the NASCAR and F1 races and eating too much. I probably will be weighing a ton by the end of the week.

I have done some walking, but I guess I need to put in more to help the body keep moving. Otherwise, my ear and stitches itch. That's a good thing. My IV mark on my arm is not quite as black and blue as it was. Barb says my neck below my ear is yellow from the bruising. Kinda hard for me to notice though.

Bike stuff... I need to take my fork and shock off my Specialized Epic and get them rebuilt. Hopefully I can work on that this week. Shouldn't be that hard to take things apart.

Did I say anything about Barb and the accident that she had in my car, well my car has been fixed and looks good. You'd never know the rear bumper cover got replaced. I guess that is a good thing.

Pretty Much Back to Normal

178 pounds....

Man, I stepped on the scale and couldn't believe that it didn't go up further. Needless to say, I will be watching what I eat over the next week or so since I'm basically laid up after my surgery.

The Master Cleanser diet has been broken and I am back to eating normal solid food again. Yesterday was cereal, blueberries, soy milk, hard boiled eggs, a Subway Italian BMT on wheat, Lays Classic Potato chips, water, won ton soup, veggie roll, beef and broccoli and rice, and to finish it all up with a couple of slices of lunch meat. Whew, after writing all of that, I should have gained weight yesterday.

Today is a veg day. I'll just be hanging out around home and watching last night's Formula 1 practice from Australia and reading more of my Level 3 USA Cycling Coach book.

And yes, Rosie and Mr. Worf are off to get haircuts and baths today. If I'm energetic, I'll attempt posting a picture of them later.

Breaking the Fast Day 3

179 pounds....

And the weight returns. No problem there, since I figured it would come back. The digestive track is filling back up and therefore the weight comes back also.

Been good so far this morning. Cereal with blueberries and soymilk. And a glass of orange juice. I just need to make sure something moves out of me soon or I'll be doing some Smooth Move tea or a salt water flush tomorrow.

Another recuperation day after my surgery. Finished listening to the Dark Tower by Stephen King. I have been doing the audio CD's of this epic tale. Makes it kinda easy to do in the car when you are driving to and from work.

I will be doing Subway for lunch. Woohoo. The ladies there probably figured I died or something since they are so used to seeing me multiple times a week.

Breaking the Fast Day 2

176 pounds....

Well, another day, another pound.

I did do the salt water flush this morning since I wasn't able to yesterday. Yup, things are still moving, but the detox is coming to an end.

I have a feeling the pounds will be coming back on after today. I had a couple of bowls of soup today, some orange juice, soy pudding and some lemonade. So I have a feeling things will be getting back to normal here soon.

For a change of pace today, I started reading my USA Cycling Level 3 coach manual so that I can maybe get my certification as a cycling coach.

Otherwise, my ear and head feel better. Chewing things make the ear canal packing move around a bit and itch. Jaw is still letting me know that it is there also.

Breaking the Fast Day 1

177 pounds....

I lost another one today, but I also started breaking the fast today. So now we can watch my weight climb back up some. Hopefully I will be able to control how much comes back and maybe even start losing some again.

And today was my ear surgery. That pretty much took up most of my day. They did find that I had a hole in my head. Nothing new there some would say. But apparently it is an issue. The Doc filled it up with the cement that he was using on the ear canal and things are better. I will say, the side of head hurt like hell this afternoon. I needed some Tylenol to take care of that. I guess that is what happens when they do work on your skull. I also should have started breaking the fast sooner. The pain meds prescribed to me should be taken with food. Needless to say, I didn't use them since I haven't had solid food in me for over 2 weeks.

In regards to breaking the fast. I started drinking orange juice. I had a couple of glasses of that today. I also had some pineapple and watermelon. So far so good. Taking it slow and gentle to see how my stomach takes things.

I did do the Smooth Move tea tonight so that things will move around tomorrow. Not sure yet if I will be doing the salt water flush tomorrow morning or not. Probably will since I didn't get to do that today.

Monday, March 12, 2007

The Master Cleanser Day 16 (part 2)

And the fast will come to an end starting tonight. I started breaking the Master Cleanser diet tonight with 10 ounces of grapefruit/orange juice. I juiced up 3 oranges and 1 grapefruit, all peeled. I shared this mixture with my wife, Barb. Very tasty.

My ear surgery is tomorrow morning so I'm not sure when I will be posting, but the diet will be coming to an end over the next few days.

All in all, it has been a good experience. I will do this again. Probably not until after racing season.

So this blog will start to become my obsession with my weight, training, bike racing, computers and motor sports of all sorts. And maybe I'll throw in some things about the family. Who knows.

The Master Cleanser Day 16

178 pounds....

I'm not sure if I will lose any more weight during this detox or not. Seems my body has plateaued with the amount of exercise that I haven't been doing and the amount of calories from the lemonade.

Only a few more days to go and then I'll break the fast and get back to eating normal food. In speaking with Barb, I'll probably then start at Week 1 of my 14 Week Off Season Training so that I ease back into working out.

The salt water flush is STILL moving things out. Seems so odd that I'm still purging things out of me, but I guess that is why I did this, isn't it?

Anyway, today is my pre-op appointment with my ear Doctor. And tomorrow is the surgery. Woohoo, finally I will get this done and past and will be able to get back to normal.

The Master Cleanser Day 15 (part 2)

Once again, didn't get to this yesterday, so here it is today.

The rest of the day went much better than day 14. I didn't have very many of the anxious moments wanting some regular food.

The NASCAR race was ok until the end. I'm not a big Hendrick Motorsports fan. It's nice to see Mark Martin in the lead of the points. Hopefully he will take the plunge and race the entire season instead of only a partial schedule.

The Master Cleanser Day 15

178 pounds....

I'm like stuck at this weight. Kinda funny considering I lost so much so fast that sitting on the same weight for more than a few days is kinda odd.

Salt water flush is still moving things out of me. I still am moving mucus out so I guess it is best to keep going to see what else will come out of me.

Today has been work related. Making sure all the computer systems changed their time correctly because of daylight savings. Just a lot of busy work.

So far today I haven't really been wanting to quit this. I did however, cheat for the first time today. I took a small sip of some juice that my wife had made out of celery, oranges, and bananas. I know, I just ruined the entire fast. =)

The Master Cleanser Day 14 (part 2)

I didn't get to post this yesterday, so here it is today.

Day 14 was a tough day. I am really starting to want to bail on this fast and get some food into me. To the point I was reading all the information I could on how to break the fast. Then I noticed that it takes about 3 days, which then puts me onto my surgery day, so I might as well wait until after that to break this.

Maybe it was all related to passing toxins. I don't know. I do know I was not a happy camper on the food front.

Otherwise, I finally finished up the first week of the Microsoft 291 course. Man am I slow on these lately. I need to put my head down and get this stuff done so that I get my money's worth out of the classes.

The NASCAR Busch race was pretty good. Was glad to see Baby Busch get beat by Jeff Burton.

I did ride my bike for about 45 minutes and that felt good. I can't wait to get back to doing my daily off season Graeme training.

Saturday, March 10, 2007

The Master Cleanser Day 14

178 pounds....

I guess I have leveled off and will be staying at this weight for a bit.

Runny nose and post nasal drip this morning. It is day 14 and some people feel that the body does it heaviest detoxes every 7 days, so maybe I'm just experiencing that. All I want to know is this, is it detox or are my allergy symptoms showing their true colors? Is this what I have to look forward to? A life of sniffles or clear breathing and being on prescriptions? I think I'll take the sniffles unless they are really bothering me.

The salt water flush is still flushing things out. More so today than the previous days. hhhmm... Is that related to the above mentioned 7 day cycle thing?

Other random thoughts.

I have a tendency to drink my water at room temperature, has that helped me with this detox since I'm so used to drinking warm water?

And why are people so much talk these days instead of substance. I keep coming across people who say, yeah, I could really stand to lose some weight and feel better. But then when you ask them what they are going to do about it, they pretty much change the subject. Please don't talk the talk if aren't going to walk the walk.

School and work things today, so things should be alright. Not to forget the Daytona Bike Races are on and the BUSCH race from Las Vegas.

Friday, March 9, 2007

The Master Cleanser Day 13 (part 2)

Today was so, so. I went to work with 3 water bottles full of lemonade, about 60 ounces. I ran out around 4pm. I was at work until 7pm. Needless to say, I was pretty hungry by the time I got home.

Otherwise things are well. Off Road to Athens arrived today. Barb and I watched it tonight. I liked it and can't wait for 24 Solo to come out next month.

The Master Cleanser Day 13

178 pounds....

Same stuff, different day.

I often wonder why people have such a hard time with the salt water flush. Maybe I'm able to do it because of all the various drinks/fuels I have tried over the past few years. Not to mention that I usually drink about 100 ounces of water a day. That is probably also why I'm able to do this liquid diet without going nuts.

Things are moving out as usual this morning. Seems to be less mucus, but the jury is still out on that since the second movement has happened yet.

My nose is still slightly plugged and the post nasal drip has slowed down a ton, but there is still something there.

My tongue hasn't gotten pink yet, so I'm not sure if that will happen on this cleanse or not.

Another day of work as usual.

Thursday, March 8, 2007

The Master Cleanser Day 12 (part 2)

Sometimes I get weird ideas.

I get the feeling that during this detox, one goes through mental phases. i.e. Thinking that you could probably live on this diet full time. Then a while later, getting ready to jump on the next plate of food that you see.

Will this type of mental training help in endurance races this summer?

Just something I think about.

The Master Cleanser Day 12

178 pounds....

Another pound off. I'll take it, no problem. If I'm able to keep losing weight, I might have a fighting chance at mountain bike racing this summer. It does however, make for a hard sell to Barb for a new carbon fiber bike though.

The normal stuff this morning with the salt water flush and such. Still have things coming out of me. Hard to believe after 11 full days on a liquid diet.

Off to get a massage this morning from Dave and off to school some. Dave is worried that I have lost too much weight too fast and that I am losing muscle mass. I try to tell him that the weight will come back on once I start eating solid foods again. And that the muscle will come back once I start putting hours back into working out instead of slacking during this detox.

Mary is home sick from daycare so Barb is babysitting some and I will man the post while she goes and gets a massage too.

Mid 40's in temps by Sunday. Might have to get the bike out on the road to stretch my legs some before my ear surgery on Tuesday.

I also do seem to sleep better with all those clothes on. I must have been getting cold and therefore restless.

The Master Cleanser Day 11 (part 2)

Sorry this wasn't posted last night, but I have been getting lazy in some respects.

The work day went as planned. Everything diet wise was ok. I am still having cravings for solid food though. I guess I will need to make some lemonade popsicles or something. Or maybe bottled water ice cubes. Something to chew on.

Wearing tons of clothes to bed again tonight since they worked so well last night.

The Master Cleanser Day 11

179 pounds....

Another day and finally another pound. Kinda cool to finally be under 180 pounds. I would have never thought it possibly back during the Holidays. I must thank Graeme Street for Cyclo-FUEL and Brian Frank from Hammer Nutrition for exposing me to the Master Cleanser. Without those things, I wouldn't be here now. Those two individuals and their products have made a big difference in my athletic abilities and my life overall. Thank you both.

Otherwise, normal things this morning. The salt water flush seemed to take longer this morning, but there is still mucus moving so I guess I'm not done with this cleanse yet.

I have been really cold the past few days, to the point where I slept in a long sleeved shirt and sweats last night. Very out of place for me. Is it because the lighter I get, the colder I become?

Off to work and a normal day hopefully.

The Master Cleanser Day 10 (part 2)

I'm back to really wanting to eat some regular food. Seems everywhere I look I see food. It has been tough, but I haven't given in yet.

Using whole lemons in the juicer has provided less than stellar results. The peal really makes for tart juice and a nasty after taste. To the point where it is almost undrinkable. I have started pealing them before juicing them and that seems to help a ton.

I have been noticing that by 10pm I am pretty beat the past few days. Cleansing is finally catching up with me. My eyes are still red and my sore throat has disappeared but the post nasal drip is still there somewhat. But otherwise things were ok today. Did all my errands and such with no problems.

The big bummer from today is that Barb had my car and got rear ended. That is her third accident since she moved down here. Hopefully that means that she will be ok from here on out. All three accidents weren't her fault. But it is still a real inconvenience. The bumper cover on the Neon will have to be replaced and painted. Not sure if there is other damage or not. The body shop will have to determine that.

The Master Cleanser Day 10

180 pounds....

No weight loss the past couple of days. At least not a full pound. The scale read 180.0 this morning while yesterday was 180.8. So I guess there is some loss, just not a full pound. Back to the obsession with my weight.

Day 10, the day most people are thinking of finishing up, but not me. I have at least another 7 planned, if not more.

Otherwise, just the same morning routines.

Chiropractor visit this morning, van appointment and I'm getting my teeth cleaned this afternoon. A busy day of running around.

I'll catch up with you later.

Monday, March 5, 2007

The Master Cleanser Day 9 (part 2)

Another day in the books.

I still have a slight sore throat and post nasal drip. Seems to be better than yesterday, but still there.

Today overall was pretty good.

My juicer has finally arrived. Made a batch of lemonade with it tonight. The lemon juice is slightly more sour compared to just squeezing the lemons. I like it though, gives it some kick. Talk with me after I have drank a few more days worth and then we'll see.

Work was work. I did get some bike riding in before it. That was nice. Maybe I'll get some more riding in tomorrow also.

The Master Cleanser Day 9

180 pounds....

Throat is still sore and there is still post nasal drip. Hopefully this stage won't last too long. Typical morning duties and passing things still. Seems to be more mucus than the past couple of days. Maybe the head/sinus stuff has something to do with that.

Otherwise, so far so good. Some bike time this morning will do me good.

Hands and feet are still cold.

The Master Cleanser Day 8 (part 2)

Most of this day continued as the others. No real issues. Shoveled snow, worked on things at work remotely, and cleaning up my computer area. But as the day went on, I started to feel a sore throat coming on. As each hour passed, it just kept getting worse. Barb commented that my face looked flushed. Which, after looking in the mirror, it was. Not just a little, but a lot. Also, the post nasal drip was getting to be a bit much. I guess this is what it is like when the head/sinus finally start clearing up.

Barb also pointed out to me that I should stop using tap water for my nightly tea. Duh! I wasn't even thinking about that when I have been making it. Needless to say, that has come to a quick halt.

By the end of the night, I was ready for sleep, which I did until this morning.

And, Alan didn't show. He had things that needed to be taken care of last night and may have also lost his cell phone. Maybe next weekend.

Sunday, March 4, 2007

The Master Cleanser Day 8

180 pounds....

I never thought I would see this day. It has been quite a few years, can you say at least 15, that I have been this light. It will be interesting to see how much the body puts back on when I resume a normal diet in a couple of weeks.

So far so good this morning. Still moving mucus and such. The head is still stuffy, but seems to be getting better.

I finally got my Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days by Peter Glickman book. One thing he does say that I wasn't doing is to wait 30 minutes between the salt water flush and the first lemonade of the day. So I tried that this morning. Didn't seem to make much difference, but I'll keep at it. It has sound thoughts behind it.

Alan, my bike mechanic, is supposed to come over today to do some baseline work on the CompuTrainer. We'll have to wait and see if he makes it or not. He has been pretty much of a party animal since he is now single. Hopefully he'll come over. Only time will tell.

The Master Cleanser Day 7 (part 2)

Another day down, a couple weeks to go.

Today went ok. My eyes still look pretty tough.

From all my reading the next week should be better than this one. But overall, things have gone along pretty smoothly.

Did computer work for my boss at his house today. I ended up working on 3 desktop systems and 3 laptops. Seems like the younger generation doesn't really care if they download dangerous stuff or not. I spent 5 hours there and probably could have worked a few more if I wanted to. I'm sure I'll be back there making sure things are ok.

Otherwise, caught up on 24 and Heroes.

The Iditarod started today, so that will be fun to keep an eye on over the next week.

Ordered Off Road to Athens today and preordered 24 Solo. Can't wait to see them.

Saturday, March 3, 2007

The Master Cleanser Day 7

181 pounds....

Another pound lost. Feeling good this morning so far. Doing the normal salt water flush and bathroom visits. Silt and mucus are still moving. I wonder how much more there is.

Off to school today, so I will write more later.

Will the snow and cold ever finish.

Speaking of cold, on the bulletin board previously mentioned, I did see that some other people have talked about being cold all the time while doing this. That would explain my cold hands and feet.

The Master Cleanser Day 6 (part 2)

The rest of the day finished up ok.

Came home to Barb and the girls making butter popcorn. That was tough to sit through, but they were nice and took it to downstairs so that I wouldn't be tempted to pig out on it.

The body is feeling ok. Did have a slight headache though with a stiff neck. Not sure if that is detox related or not.

My eyes are still really bloodshot and I did get a canker sore in my nose the day before that I forgot to mention.

I did find a website with a message board for more information. The Master Cleanser & Raw Food Bulletin Board.

I have found putting some maple syrup in the Smooth Move tea seems to help with the after taste.

The Master Cleanser Day 6

182 pounds....

No weight loss yesterday. I guess my digestive tract is now officially empty of anything heavy.

My body is alittle sore from shoveling last night, but to work on that I'm off to ride bike for a bit.

Otherwise, just another normal day.

The Master Cleanser Day 5 (part 2)

The cravings are no longer an issue. Didn't have one at all today. Kinda nice.

I'm experimenting with how much cayenne pepper is too much. I'm up to 9 shakes in 20 ounces of lemonade and will try 10 or more tomorrow.

I did shovel the driveway this evening. Damn snow, hopefully it is done for a while. I did get a little light headed at one point. I went for the water bottle of lemonade right away and then things were better.

I did try the Peppermint Tea today. I guess I'm just not a peppermint kinda guy.

By the tracking information, it looks like my juicer won't be in until Monday. =(

Otherwise, things have gotten to be somewhat routine with this diet.

An interesting note about the Horribly Hilly Hundred. It filled all 1000 spots in under 7 hours. Possibly faster, I'm not sure. So me getting in for the 100k, is a major accomplishment.

The Master Cleanser Day 5

182 pounds....

Well, my 2 pounds per day loss has slowed to only 1 pound. I'm not sure what to make of that. Does it mean that all the digestive tract has finally been cleared? I did drink 20 more ounces of lemonade yesterday than the previous days, but I also did about 45 minutes on the bike too. So I guess I will have to wait and see what happens.

Overall things have been good this morning. Saw Dave, my massage guy. He is amazed and concerned that I have lost 10 pounds in about 1 week. I told him that I asked Barb this morning if she thought I was doing a crazy thing by doing this diet. She put it to me this way. Do you feel alright? Are you in pain? Are you still up and moving around without crawling into a fetal position? Then I think you are ok and that you are feeding yourself enough to be ok. I guess she has a point.

Hopefully my juicer will show up soon so I can see if that makes a difference in the lemonade. I will say, the Maple Valley Grade B maple syrup does make a taste difference. I will use no other during the rest of this cleanse.

On another note, I have signed up for the Horribly Hilly Hundreds. The 100k version. That area of the state is hilly and it should prove to be a good challenge. I will have to keep working on this and then afterwards continue my off season training from Graeme Street.
